...And more music!
And for the second part it are two vinyl records that I received last week. I still have to listen to these but I'll do that today. The first one is the last from Data Discs which contains the soundtracks to both Galaxy Force II and Thunder Blade. I haven't played these games and have no intention to do so either but I really like the Data Discs collection so I bought it to complete that one. The second is the last release from Mondo which is Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. This record also includes the soundtracks from both the NES and the Famicom version of the game which is great. Normally I really like the cover art from Mondo's releases too but this one not so much actually.
The last couple of weeks I received some new soundtracks, most of them are on vinyl and also one on CD. I'll have to split these up in two posts because I couldn't possibly fit those vinyl records in one picture. The first one contains also the soundtracks I received first, these are Snatcher on vinyl and the 30th Anniversary Legend of Zelda Game Music Selection on CD. Snatcher sounds really good, I have never played the game but the music is great. Zelda is also a very nice collection of songs from the series.
Lately I've mainly been playing on my Nintendo Switch, I absolutely love the system and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild! It came to that point that I actually have no need to start up another system. Also looking forward to many announced titles for it. But besides all that I did get some new things this week. I got two amiibo from Breath of the Wild, the Bokoblin and Link on his horse. They look really cool! I also got the soundtrack from Gravity Rush 2 on CD, I really loved that game too and the music is amazing just like in the first one. And finally I also got the soundtrack from Contra III: The Alien Wars on vinyl, this one arrived today actually. It's playing right now and it sounds really good. The artwork is amazing too.
Time to switch it up
Finally it's here, Nintendo's new console! I placed my pre-order back in January after they made their presentation for the Switch because I really liked what I saw there. Yesterday was the big day, my bundle of Switch stuff arrived with the mail. First of all there's the console itself naturally, it was really quick and easy to set it up and be able to play. I love the interface, very clean and slick. The screen in handheld mode is also amazing looking. Besides the console I also bought a Pro Controller, I've been using it for a good couple of hours yesterday and I gotta say it's one of the best controllers I've held in my hands together with the Xbox One controller. And last but certainly not least I also got the Limited Edition of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This box is huge! I really didn't expect it to be so big. I've been playing the game for a while already and I love it. Such a good time from the get go and this is just the beginning.
Fantastic bricks and where to build them
It was time for some new content for my LEGO Dimensions collection, I still play the game regularly and really enjoy it everytime I roam around in one of the many worlds. I still had a gift card lying around for a shop that sells games and yesterday I used it to buy the story pack from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them for LEGO Dimensions. I already started the story and it's very fun so far like most LEGO games. I really enjoyed the movie too, I only buy stuff for this game from franchises that I actually like.
And now for some games
After all the updates with game soundtracks on vinyl it's finally time to show some new games as well! I got a birthday gift from a very good friend which included two games and a very nice Funko Pop figurine. I got Until Dawn on PlayStation 4 and Rodea the Sky Soldier on Wii U, two games that I already wanted to have actually. The Funko Pop figurine is Dogmeat from Fallout 4, I've always been on the lookout for this one but haven't been able to find one so I'm very happy to have him sit on my PC desk now. If you are reading this, thanks again for the great gifts! I also bought something myself today, I got the Knight Rider Fun Pack for LEGO Dimensions. This one includes Michael Knight and of course K.I.T.T. It's so amazing how they keep on adding those franchises from the old days, I love those.
The return of Data Discs
More game soundtracks on vinyl? Well yes, of course! The latest releases from Data Discs have arrived today, this time they are the soundtracks to The Revenge of Shinobi and Panzer Dragoon. I haven't listened to them yet but I'm sure they'll be great quality again. I'm especially happy that they released Panzer Dragoon, I love that game and the soundtrack is really amazing.
All your vinyl are belong to us
No I did not get a vinyl record from the soundtrack to Zero Wing but it does seem that they are beginning to overtake this page quite a lot lately. Two new records have arrived today! The first one is Final Symphony, these are symphonic songs of Final Fantasy VI, VII and X. It's a big one too, three vinyl records to be precise. The other one is the soundtrack of Trials of the Blood Dragon. I haven't played the game yet but I loved Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and its soundtrack, this one is by the same artist named Power Glove and it sounds just as amazing as the Far Cry one. I know what I'll listen to in the next few days!
What a horrible night to have a curse
Like the previous two soundtracks on vinyl weren't enough. I just received another one! This time it's the soundtrack to the NES game Castlevania II: Simon's Quest that arrived on vinyl, this one is from Mondo. I also have the first one and that quality was actually really good. I just listened to this vinyl and it's also very good, I really like that they included both the NES and the Famicom versions of the soundtrack. The artwork on it is amazing as well!
More vinyl incoming
Shovel Knight alone wasn't enough for video game soundtracks on vinyl this week apparently because another one has arrived today. This time it's quite a heavy box including the Street Fighter II soundtrack! I missed out on this one the first time it was released but I'm happy I could pick this one up of the second print runs. It contains four vinyl records with both the arcade versions included. This means that both the CPS-1 and CPS-2 versions are on these records. It has an amazing package and booklet and is from the same company that released Shovel Knight on vinyl, they put out amazing quality!
Shoveling on vinyl
A new soundtrack on vinyl has arrived today, it's one that I pre-ordered quite some time ago and I'm very happy it's finally released. It's none other than Shovel Knight, a game that I enjoyed a lot! The music is fantastic as well, so I didn't hesitate a moment when you could pre-order this vinyl. I listened to it already and it's amazing quality, not a single crackle or pop to hear on it.
A challenge has appeared
Yesterday I received a gift from my brother, it's a game he really likes and that I was only quite interested in when I watched him play it. It's Bloodborne, the Game of the Year Edition! I did play the first Dark Souls on PC and while I liked it I never completed it, it was a bit too slow for me. But Bloodborne looked a lot faster so I'm more interested in that one. I won't be playing it in the immediate future though, I'm currently playing three other games and in March the Switch gets released too.
