1.21 gigabricks! Great Scott!
Next week the new batch of LEGO Dimensions contents starts to launch so for me it was time to get the last couple of sets of the previous waves that I really wanted to have. Those are the two Back to the Future sets, the level pack that includes Marty McFly and the fun pack with Doc Brown. They arrived yesterday and I'll open them up today, time to build some LEGO again. There are a couple of others that I'm interested in that are already available but I'll wait on a good price for those.
Going to the core
I bought this game yesterday and preloaded it already so I could play it first thing today. It's ReCore that I bought from the Windows Store, since this game was announced I already thought it looked very cool and if I have the choice between console and PC then that choice is easily made for myself. I already read that the PC port was very good, now that I played the game myself for a while already I can confirm this. It runs very smooth and I really like the game so far.
Axing on vinyl
Here we are again with another video game soundtrack on vinyl and it's another one from Data Discs! The seventh album in their line-up has arrived today and it's the soundtrack to Golden Axe I & II. It's playing right now and as usual from Data Discs it's great quality. Now I'm really looking forward to their announced vinyl record from Panzer Dragoon, I just love that soundtrack and the game!
Some people that know me for a while now know that I have always liked those Japanese superheroes and some of their American counterparts. Many years ago I used to watch a show named Masked Rider and later I found out that show was based on the Japanese series Kamen Rider. I always liked the designs of the Kamen Riders and even watched some shows. Today I received a PlayStation 4 game from Japan based on those shows, it's called Kamen Rider: Battride War Genesis and I'm really looking forward to playing this! I do hope I will know what I'm doing since the entire game is in Japanese.
Let's get digital
I bought some new digital games for my handheld systems today. I've always wanted to try out those PSOne Classics for the PlayStation Vita and decided to do so with Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, it had to download for a long time but it's finally on my Vita and it really looks amazing with that screen! I also bought two 3D Sega classics on the Nintendo 3DS, they are on sale right now and I bought 3D Out Run and 3D Fantasy Zone. Out Run especially looks amazing in 3D.
Retro strikes back
It's been a while since I got some new retro games but today I received some new ones. The first one is Panzer Dragoon for PC, I didn't know this game got a release on PC until I saw it on a forum I visit a lot. I bought it there and I've installed the game already, had to mess around with some files but now it works perfectly! Still an amazing game too. I also received some Famicom games today. This week I pre-ordered the AVS system from Retro USB so I can play my NES games in good quality, the reviews I saw on YouTube from this system are very positive too. And I've always liked those Famicom carts to begin with, so it will be great to play them like this when the system releases and arrives here. I got Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros., Exerion, SonSon and Hoshi no Kirby: Yume no Izumi no Monogatari (also known as Kirby's Adventure here).
A true magical sound shower
It's no surprise to me anymore but the latest vinyl record I received from Data Discs is once again a beauty! It's the soundtrack from the classic arcade game Out Run, I've always liked this game and it's soundtrack is really something else. Amazing tunes and the transfer to vinyl is great. I can't say it enough, Data Discs really manages to bring out amazing vinyl after amazing vinyl in their collection.
Hatsune Miku returns
The people who know me a bit also know that I really like rhythm games. I've bought some Hatsune Miku games in the past and I always enjoyed playing them a lot, today I received the newest game on PlayStation 4 in the franchise named Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X. It's the American version, here in Europe it will not release as a physical copy and if I have the choice for PlayStation 4 then I will always choose physical copies. The main reason is because there isn't that much room on the hard drive of the console. Really looking forward to playing this game which I will do tomorrow!
Kirby goes mecha
Today I received a new Nintendo 3DS game with the mail, it's Kirby: Planet Robobot. I've actually wanted this one since it was released but never got around to actually buy it so I decided to change that around and get the game. I haven't played it yet but I always like the Kirby platformers so I think this one will be a very fun game too! Definitely looking forward to playing it.
I got myself two new digital games in the last two days, one for PC and one for the Nintendo 3DS. I noticed that there was a sale going on in the Origin store from Electronic Arts and I decided to finally buy Unravel for PC. I've been playing the first three levels already and it's a game that I really like, it looks amazing too! For the Nintendo 3DS I bought Ninja Battle Heroes yesterday while I was browsing through the eShop. It was on sale and very cheap and while watching the trailer it looked like something I would enjoy. I've been playing it for a while already and indeed, I love this game! A great action platformer for a very good price this.
Vampire hunting on vinyl
I mentioned this before quite some times already but I'm a fan of video game soundtracks and vinyl records so I love the combination of both! Today the soundtrack for Castlevania arrived on vinyl, it's a short record but it sounds really good and the artwork on it looks amazing too!
The sky has no limit
Finally a game that I was anticipating for quite some time now was released last friday, it's No Man's Sky for the PC. I bought it immediately and have played for about 10 hours already. I really like this game, I can see myself loosing quite some hours in this one just exploring planets and galaxies. I had to tweak a bit with the settings at first but now the game runs really good on my PC.
