Shoveling on vinyl

A new soundtrack on vinyl has arrived today, it's one that I pre-ordered quite some time ago and I'm very happy it's finally released. It's none other than Shovel Knight, a game that I enjoyed a lot! The music is fantastic as well, so I didn't hesitate a moment when you could pre-order this vinyl. I listened to it already and it's amazing quality, not a single crackle or pop to hear on it.

A challenge has appeared

Yesterday I received a gift from my brother, it's a game he really likes and that I was only quite interested in when I watched him play it. It's Bloodborne, the Game of the Year Edition! I did play the first Dark Souls on PC and while I liked it I never completed it, it was a bit too slow for me. But Bloodborne looked a lot faster so I'm more interested in that one. I won't be playing it in the immediate future though, I'm currently playing three other games and in March the Switch gets released too.

A huge RPG arrived

I've beaten Pokémon Sun on Nintendo 3DS some time ago so it was time to dive into a new RPG and with the release of Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King on Nintendo 3DS I knew which one it was going to be. I played the PlayStation 2 version a lot but never have beaten it, I do think I was in the last part of the game though. I really want to beat the game this time around and I'm curious for the new stuff too, I already loved the original version.

Shifting gravity once more

Gravity Rush was my favorite game for the PlayStation Vita and I really enjoyed playing through it again on the PlayStation 4 with the remaster so it makes sense that I was really looking forward to the sequel too. Finally it was released yesterday and of course I have played it already. It plays great again, can't wait to dive into it more! It looks really good too, I'm very happy with the game so far.

The return of a cult classic

Let me begin by saying that I really like the original Wild Guns on the Super Nintendo, it's an amazing game and quite original for it's time too. I guess you can imagine already how excited I was when they announced Wild Guns Reloaded for the PlayStation 4, I was even more excited when they announced the physical edition of the game. I received my copy yesterday and already played it for a while, it's still amazing and the updates are very good! I believe it's harder then the original too or it's just me who's rusty at the game.

Guilty Gear on vinyl... Rock on!

The first new gaming related item I got this year is a soundtrack on vinyl bundled with an artbook. This time around I received the soundtrack to Guilty Gear Xrd together with an artbook of that same game. I don't even have the game (yet) but if there is something that is always great in these games it's the music, always good electric guitars and that is something I can really appreciate.

Not-so-secret Santa also came by

My package from Secret Santa wasn't the only thing I opened up for Christmas, yesterday evening I also received some gifts from family members. I got three new LEGO Dimensions sets, those are The Simpsons Level Pack, the Midway Arcade Level Pack and the Unikitty Fun Pack. I also got two new PlayStation 4 games, those are Ratchet & Clank and Godzilla. I'll really need to make a lot of time to play all of this... Luckily it's vacation at my work right now so I'll be gaming quite a bit.

Secret Santa was here

On a forum I visit a lot we held a Secret Santa event and the first thing I did today was unpacking my gift I received from my Santa. It had some very cool stuff inside! I got Bit.Trip Saga on the Nintendo 3DS to begin with, I own these games on PC but they are great and very good for on the go. For the Famicom I received The Goonies, Hyper Olympic: Gentai Ban! and Ganbare Goemon: Karakuri Douchuu. Very happy with these, looking forward to play them! I also received Aladdin, The Adventures of Batman & Robin and Sega Game Pack 4-in-1 for the Game Gear. For these I have to find a solution because sadly my Game Gear stopped working a while ago. I also got a music CD with a compilation of The Legend of Zelda music which is great and two EDGE magazines about the PlayStation 2.

Killer vinyl

Quantum Break and Galak-Z weren't the only soundtracks on vinyl that I was expecting to arrive with the mail, today I received the third one! This sure is a good one, I already had the album on CD but when they announced the vinyl version I immediately placed a pre-order. It's the album Killer Cuts from the original Killer Instinct, I always have loved this soundtrack and it's amazing to have it on vinyl. I just listened to it and it sounds really good too.

Shantae strikes back

The Shantae games are a franchise that really grew on me, I liked Risky's Revenge on the Nintendo DS a lot and Shantae and the Pirate's Curse was also amazing. Finally the new one is released and I went with the retail edition of the game on PlayStation 4. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero has finally arrived today! It's the Risky Boots Edition which also includes a soundtrack and comes in a nice package. I played the game for a bit already and it's already amazingly fun again!

More game sounds on vinyl

Can't seem to have a break from packages the last three days, another one has arrived today! It's another soundtrack on vinyl but this time it's in single format and only contains two songs. The songs are from the indie game Galak-Z, a game I have never played and don't even own but I listened to the songs before buying and really liked them. Maybe I'll check the game out soon too when there are some sales on it.

Let there be light

Something that I have always wanted to have is now finally in my hands, the good old Game Boy Advance with a backlit screen! I have always preferred the original Game Boy Advance over the SP and Micro when it comes to design and how it holds in my hands but the lack of a backlit (or even frontlit for that matter) screen holded me from using it. But now that has changed, on a forum I visit a lot somebody suddenly put up an original Game Boy Advance with a backlit and scratch proof screen. I was interested immediately and not much later I bought one, it has arrived now and it looks really amazing!
