At long last it's here
The game that started out as Final Fantasy Versus XIII has finally been released after about 10 years of development as Final Fantasy XV. I played the Episode Duscae demo and really enjoyed it, I also quite liked the Platinum demo for the game and the movie Kingsglaive was also something I really enjoyed. Finally my copy of the Deluxe Edition of the game has arrived today for PlayStation 4, I installed the game already and download the patch so I can play first thing tomorrow! I'm really looking forward to it.
A Famicom soundtrack on vinyl
The video game soundtrack industry on vinyl is really blooming and I love it for that, I'm still a big fan of good video game soundtracks and I love vinyl too. Today I received my copy of the soundtrack to Lagrange Point, an RPG that was only released for the Famicom in Japan. I haven't played the game but I have listened to the soundtrack and it's really good. Amazing what that extra soundchip in this cartridge could do for the music.
Sunny pocket monsters
One of the games that I placed a pre-order for has arrived today, it's the new Pokémon game for Nintendo 3DS. I chose the Sun version of the game because I liked the looks of the legendary Pokémon on the cover more. I'll definitely start this one up today, I really liked the demo so I'm looking forward to it.
Azurian nights on PlayStation 4
I received another PlayStation 4 game today with the mail, this time it's the action RPG named Nights of Azure. I found a copy for a good price and it looked like a game that I would enjoy quite a bit. I won't be playing it immediately though due to another big RPG that releases next week on PlayStation 4. But when I have more time I'll be sure to try this one out.
Two new games to add to the collection today. I finally picked up the Wii version of my favorite game of all time which is Okami. I probably will never play this version but wanted to have it for the collection, if I replay Okami it will be the HD version on PlayStation 3. I also bought the newly released Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection for PlayStation 4. Always wanted to try out these games and this seemed like the ideal way to do so for myself.
More dimensional bricks
A couple of new packs for LEGO Dimensions were released today and this time around there were quite some that I wanted. I got myself the Sonic the Hedgehog level pack, the Gremlins team pack and the E.T. The Extra Terrestrial fun pack. I was mostly looking forward to the Gremlins pack so I tried that one out already. Stripe and Gizmo are really well made and the Kingston Falls hub world seems like a very cool place in the game already.
Have you played Atari today? Or Famicom?
A couple of new games arrived with the mail yesterday, one is a compilation of retro games for the PlayStation 4 and the other ones are three new Famicom games. The PlayStation 4 title is Atari Flashback Classics Volume 1, a compilation of 50 Atari arcade and Atari 2600 games. There are actually two of these compilations but this one had the games I'm most interested in. The three Famicom games I got are Batman, Yoshi no Tamago and Rockman 5: Blues no Wana!? Rockman (or Mega Man as we know him) is the one I wanted the most and I ordered the other two with it to compensate for the shipping costs and the games have always interested me too. I'm especially curious to finally play Batman.
Shantae goes retail
Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is a game I really liked, I have it already digitally on the Wii U and on the Nintendo 3DS but I couldn't resist buying the retail version for the 3DS as well even if it's just for collection purposes. I will play through it again, that is for sure. I have only beaten the Wii U version before and I'm curious for the 3D effects in this one.
The music of Ys
A week or so ago I have finally played and beaten Ys I Chronicles on Steam and now I'm busy with Ys II Chronicles. Really fun games but the music is just amazing! So amazing that I immediately checked if there was a soundtrack available after I've beaten the first game. Luckily there is and today it has arrived straight from Japan. Really happy with this one, I think it'll be played quite a bit around here.
Smurfs go 8 bit
Yesterday I went to the retro convention and today I received another retro game with the mail! This time around I got The Smurfs for NES, I know I said I will look only for Famicom games most of the time but some games just never got a release in Japan. The Smurfs is one of those, it was only released here in Europe and it looked like a really cool game. Curious to try this one out today!
I went to another retro gaming convention today, this one was a lot smaller then the convention I usually go to but I did manage to find some nice games that I still wanted. I got Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles and Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop for Wii, Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower for PlayStation Portable, Battle Soccer: Field no Hasha for Super Famicom and Hakuna Matata for PlayStation 3. I'm especially happy with Battle Soccer and Hakuna Matata, I've been looking for those two games for quite some time now. Especially Hakuna Matata, also known as Afrika in English, it's an Asian version but I can play the game in English.
Yoshi goes to Japan
Actually he comes from Japan but yeah... I received a new Super Famicom game today, it's Super Mario: Yoshi's Island! I already have the European version of this game but since I'm focusing more and more on Famicom and Super Famicom games I couldn't pass this one up when I had to chance to buy it. The game is in great condition and once again I love the box art! Super Famicom games really have amazing boxes.
