Musical skulls

I received two packages in the last two weeks but only got around to take a picture of them now. In the first one was the soundtrack from Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows on vinyl, once again this has amazing art on it and it sounds so good. I really dig (pun intended) the Shovel Knight music! The second package was actually one that I totally forgot about, it's the physical version from Skullgirls: 2nd Encore on PlayStation 4. I ordered this one a year ago and it slipped my mind that I did this. I don't know when I'll be playing this one, but it comes with a soundtrack on CD which is always a nice bonus and the music is pretty good.

Fus Ro Switch

It shows lately that I really love playing games on my Switch, after the incredible experience that is Super Mario Odyssey I have received a new game yesterday. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is my next big epos for Nintendo's hybrid console. I've played it for a good two hours already and I'm really enjoying it so far, this is my first time that I play Skyrim. Besides this big RPG I also got Rocket League on Switch digitally, an ideal game for when I have some time left and it's just as fun as the PC version that I've played before. And as a last new purchase I also bought Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite on PlayStation 4 digital. It's a fun game but it's not as good as the previous installments in the franchise, the roster feels a bit too safe for my taste.

A wonderful art book

Today I'll be sharing two items that I received in the past week with you. First up is the amiibo of Bowser in his wedding outfit from Super Mario Odyssey. The game is simply amazing and I couldn't pass this one up, Bowser is such a great character. I also received an art book straight from Japan, this one is called Susumu Matsushita Reflections. It's a collection of art from Matsushita, known for Maximo and Adventure Island amongst many others. I really like his style and it's a great book to look through. Also very handy that it is in both Japanese and English.

Let's do the odyssey

Today is the big day! A couple of games that I was really looking forward to have been released today and I bought two of them already. The first one is Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus on PlayStation 4, once again I bought this one digital in the PlayStation Store. I've played the game for about three hours already and it's a really good Wolfenstein, not easy either. The second one was the big one for me, Super Mario Odyssey on Switch. It arrived with the mail some hours ago and I started the game immediately, what an amazing adventure so far! I really like this one too. Finally I also bought a small Link figurine last week based on the cover art from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D, it's one from the Ultra Detail Figure line and it looks really good.

A little Conan

Yesterday a new game for my Switch arrived with the mail, it's the retail version of Tiny Barbarian DX. I became interested in this game mainly because of the amazing art on the box. This art was made by Susumu Matsuhita, he is very well known in Japan for his art in the Famitsu magazine and also for some other games such as Adventure Island. This kind of art is very nostalgic for me, it reminds me of some games that I played a lot in my childhood on the Sega Master System. The game looks really cool too, I can't wait to try it out later today.

Animals with attitude

The 90's were quite famous for their animal mascots with attitude and lately I received two items that have to do with two such mascots. Last week I went to pick up my Crash Bandicoot figurine that is made by First 4 Figures. It's a great looking figure for a very decent price, also larger than I expected it to be. Today another item arrived, this time it was the soundtrack from Sonic Mania on vinyl. Sonic Mania is an amazing new Sonic game with great music so I couldn't let this one slip by. I didn't have the time yet to listen to it but I will definitely do this tomorrow. It's by Data Discs so I'm quite sure it will be great quality again.

A bit of after summer fun with Senran Kagura

I know I said that I won't be buying physical PlayStation 4 games anymore but this will be one of those very rare exceptions to that. I already placed my pre-order before I had the problems with my disc drive and I also didn't want to cancel it. Yesterday I received Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash, it's the Girls of Paradise Collector's Edition that also includes the soundtrack CD, an artbook and a Blu-ray. I played the game for a bit already and it's quite fun so far, it's different from the other Senran Kagura games this time around. So far I had no problems with my disc drive, fingers crossed that it will stay this way while I'm playing the game.

The return of Samus is finally upon us

It's been a while since the last update but I finally took some time to take a picture of the latest purchases. But first of all I will go over a digital purchase, that is Yakuza Kiwami for PlayStation 4. I bought the game when it was released and I'm still enjoying it a lot, this is my first time playing a Yakuza game and I'm sold. I love the story, the gameplay, everything about it! I also got myself two new amiibo recently, those are Cloud Strife and Bayonetta. I'm glad I found these two since they are protagonists from two games that are among my favorites. Now I only need to find that other version of Bayonetta... And finally friday was the time for the return of Metroid! Metroid: Samus Returns was released for Nintendo 3DS and I bought the Legacy Edition of the game. I've been playing it for a good couple of hours already and it's amazing. Plays very good, looks great with the 3D effect and the sound is good too. I'm so glad Metroid is finally back.

Some portable PlayStation titles

I don't buy that many physical games anymore but today I brought home two new ones, both are PlayStation Portable titles. I really like the PSP system and I want to play a bit more on it too. I bought Ridge Racer and Final Fantasy II today. Ridge Racer is a game that I played on the PSP of a friend a long time ago and I really enjoyed that game. Final Fantasy II, well it's Final Fantasy and I haven't played this one yet so that was reason enough for me to get it.

Behold, a retro game! And digital on PlayStation 4

It's been quite some time since I last bought a retro game but yesterday I stumbled upon a PlayStation game that always had my interest but I never came across it before. It's Lomax, a 2D platformer which is actually a Lemmings game. I decided to pick it up because this is one of those games that I wanted to have for quite some time now. I was also quite surprised by the prices they sell it for online, luckily I didn't pay that much for it. I also want to say that you probably won't be seeing anymore physical PlayStation 4 games here. I decided to go fully digital on the console for a couple of reasons, the main one being my disc drive that is randomly ejecting discs and I don't want to buy a new console. It's also very convenient to have the games digitally. This way I bought Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age and I'm playing that one right now, it's a great game and it's my first time playing this one.

Time to splat some inklings

The first Splatoon was a really nice surprise for me on the Wii U, initially I wasn't really interested in it but after seeing more and more about the game I wanted to try it out and ended up having a blast with it. Now Splatoon 2 has arrived on the Switch and I can't wait to dive into this one this evening! I also ordered a case for my Switch with a Splatoon theme, really like that one too. I don't use it that much in handheld mode but ocassionally I want to take it with me.

A blast from the past

Finally he's back, folks! Crash Bandicoot made his long awaited return yesterday on the PlayStation 4 with Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, the first three games in the franchise completely remade. This was a long awaited game for me, I love the first Crash games and this trilogy really does them great justice. It looks absolutely amazing too.
